Our take: what it means for contractors
This one helps estimators and PMs directly. Being able to ask "do the drawings and the spec/contract disagree on scope?" before bid day is the most useful thing on the list. One limit: it reads the text on sheets, so treat it as a second set of eyes on notes and keynotes, not a plan-review replacement.
What we don't know yet
- Pricing
- Availability conflict: the release says "available to all users," but the help article (https://help.documentcrunch.com/articles/9274427053-drawings-early-preview) is titled "Drawings (early preview)"
- No independent accuracy data
- Line work and geometry are not read, only text on sheets
