Our take: what it means for contractors
Plenty of subs and GCs already pay bills through BILL, so this is a concrete sign of agents moving into the back office. It's a pilot, not a switch you can flip today. Watch who carries the risk when an agent pays the wrong invoice before you let one near payables.
What we don't know yet
- Which customers are in the pilot
- General availability date and fees
- Who is liable for a wrong agent payment
- Whether construction payment portals join
