Our take: what it means for contractors
This is the first real Windows option for running private AI agents on a laptop with lots of memory. For a contractor, the use is an office or estimating machine that keeps plans and pricing off the cloud, not a cheap jobsite laptop. Prices climb fast past the $2,599 entry model, so compare against a desktop before buying.
What we don't know yet
- Real-world speed on long contractor documents and plan sets
- Which memory configurations retailers actually stock
- How well estimating and takeoff software runs on Windows on Arm
